Besides the anti-social folklore which quickly puts you straight at drinks time (it's also a bar), you would not be daft to come here for a great little meal that you weren't expecting. Unless you read these lines, which is what you're doing. So. How does Jean-Luc Arvin manage to make such a well hidden place a success? For example he has taken on a conscientious young chef. It's an important fact when you're running a restaurant, spread the word. He also suggests festive dishes... it makes a change from the ordinary every day routine! Here's proof in writing with the aid of Mauricette, our eternal servant who acts as a rather special correspondent. Like a single man we both opt for "profiteroles de foie gras". The foie gras mousse is good and there are bits and bobs to complete the picture around the pretty plate such as; salmon on toast, crystallised onion tart, raspberry tart. Delicate attentions. The chef doesn't have do such a thing to fill his contract. 14,5/20. To follow! "Ballottine de dinde farci aux marrons, jardinière de légumes et pommes duchesse" (turkey stuffed with chestnuts, mixed vegetables and potato puffs). It's generous, there is brocoli and white beans which are just lacking a bit of salt, the sauce is fine. Good. 14,5/20. The desserts follow the same track, two "omelette norvégiennes" (baked Alaska), well, I mean one each. The lady with the green hat has no regrets about the house's "tiramisu" that she already knows. 14,5/20. Here is when it gets funny: 13,50 € the menu. It's not only the dishes that are festive! Your wallet will celebrate too! There's another menu at 15,90 € and a blackboard where you will find some well prepared dishes, pasta in sauce and a nice choice of meats: tartar, carpaccio, entrecote, steak and also an enooormous burger! Big dining room, patio and car park welcome groups. And that's a success too. Although it is relatively isolated you mustn't miss it. It's a bit like going to the mountaaaains behind the Faron when you head for the Revest! Les Favières! Follow the guide!
