What a family! I'm talking about the Hernandez family! The father! The son! The daughter! And the simple spirit: Mauricette! She is here to! I couldn't do otherwise! She wouldn't have missed trying out Bruno Hernandez's second address which opened as the end of 2007. With only a quarter of a century behind him, this visionary-chef has learnt one essential thing: that customers must be pleased with one meal in order to come back for a second. It is as intelligent as a comment from the open mouthed Mauricette in front of a photo of George Clooney, but it's truly realistic! The menu is similar to that of "the big brother's place", the "Vatel" in Solliès-Pont. There is the same passion for the job and a real wish to please. But you have to be careful even so. How many chefs multiply their addresses at the same time as the deceptions... So we hope that they will keep their promises! The lady with the green hat started first and chose "toast de foie gras maison accompagné de sa confiture de figues de Solliès" (homemade foie gras on toast with fig jam from Solliès). It didn't last long! It would have been nice to have taken a photo of this pretty first dish! The following ones will be very much the same! This chef has more than one string to his toque! 15,5/20 for this starter! Mine is succulent. |  |
 | I chose "ravioli maison au foie gras, écrevisses et épinards" (homemade foie gras ravioli, crayfish and spinach), it is nice and round and pushed by a finely adjusted sauce. Less than 16/20 is impossible unless you are stuffed with bad will. A clever and tasty dish follows: "Parmentier de coquilles St-Jacques" (St-Jacques shellfish pie) it is generous and is surrounded by a greedy garnishing. 15/20. She who once dreamt of being a toreador went for the "pavé de coeur de rumsteck de taureau" (Bull rump steak) with its Roquefort sauce on option. She applauded with her tongue and gave it 15,5/20.Our two desserts: "profiteroles à la vanille sauce chocolat" (vanilla profiteroles with chocolate sauce) and "brioche perdue sauce chocolat chaud" (sweet-bread pudding with hot chocolate sauce) really deserve 15/20, which is even so a little severe. Nathalie Hernandez strictly looks after the dining room with a smile, proud of her brother's dishes. A superb modern setting, tables well spaced out for privacy. A newly born table in the centre of town! And already indispensable to the panorama!
