Georges Ferrero is fit and healthy! The feast a total success! A grand moment along with our 1930s elegant Mauricette with her green hat! Lively slightly traditional attendance, courteous which has become a rare thing elsewhere, a very healthy Bandol wine menu, and an old forgery that has become a deliciously rustic dining room. And as I started off with the master of the premises, him: a Georges Ferrero who never stops pleasing himself by pleasing us! Menus and a blackboard. Veal kidneys in Madera, pigs trotters, sweetbread with truffles, various sorts of grilled lamb from the Alps, beef fillet with morel mushrooms, prepared tartar, steak, roast John Dory with olive oil, Provence style frog's legs, scrambled egg and truffles, and other good things. For 18 € Mauricette heads straight for a "côte de veau, jus aux raisins et cerises" (veal chop, jus with grapes and cherries). "You have to get straight to the point" as she often says.  If you like veal don't hesitate a nano-second! You should see how thick it is! She jumps on the meat as if it were guilty! I'm not joking; I've rarely seen such a nice piece of veal. The cooking is impeccable, the sauce lively and a vegetable tian. She says 15,5/20! Can you imagine? I've every reason to be jealous except that my "médaillon de lotte piqué au chorizo rôti" (monkfish with roast chorizo) gets me back into the rhythm of the dance: it's nearly a sweet! "It's light for the summer" says the chef! What a piece! Really well cooked with a delicious sauce... made with butter. 15/20 and 18 €. Dessert of the same kind with the tart of the day, a "tarte aux prunes" with shortcrust pastry, the sweet fruit is slightly acid, 14,5/20. Acid and sweet again with my "crumble de rhubarbe" at 14,5/20. The historical gourmet page written by "La Grange" keeps going! This year in capital letters!
